Paul J. Krazeise, Jr. is a member of the firm's Bankruptcy, Financial Restructuring, and Taxation Sections.  Prior to joining the firm as Of Counsel, Paul concluded a 37-year career with the Internal Revenue Service.  During the last 19 years of his career with the Internal Revenue Service, Paul was a Senior Attorney with the Office of IRS Associate Area Counsel in Louisville, Kentucky, and performed a full range of legal duties associated with federal tax administration, including the litigation of tax disputes in the United States Tax Court.

While with the IRS Associate Area Counsel Office, Paul also served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Offices of the United States Attorneys for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky.  In this capacity, Paul directly represented the Internal Revenue Service in bankruptcy cases filed in both United States Bankruptcy Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky; much of this significant and frequent representation consisted of pursuing and defending claims filed by the Internal Revenue Service in Chapter 13 cases and individual and business Chapter 11 cases.

“For an approximate 16-year period concluding in 2013, Paul served as an adjunct instructor within the W. Fielding Rubel School of Business at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky.  In this capacity, Paul taught numerous and various classes within the university’s undergraduate accounting and business administration curricula as well as its graduate business (“MBA”) and Masters in Taxation programs.  During this period, Paul was twice honored as the university’s “Part-Time Teacher of the Year” as voted by students and served, also, on the university’s Student Judiciary Committee, a rotating panel of faculty members and other university officials which conducted hearings and issued findings relating to student disciplinary matters."
